Listen to MMYYKK's AstralBeat Theories Vol. 2

Another week means another installment of Minneapolis' ZULUZULUU's Astral Beat Theories, the series of solo EP's from the band's members that line up with each of their week's curated shows during their month-long residency at Icehouse. We last heard from MMYYKK, ZULUZULUU's vocalist and synth/talk-box player when Greenroom premiered his first solo foray, the Love In Synthesis EP earlier this year.

On his volume of the AstralBeat Theories, MMYYKK continues his elegant, synth-forward take on modern soul music. But more so than Love In Synthesis, AstralBeat takes a turn toward the funk revitalization taking place back in MMYYKK's birthplace of southern California, bringing to mind the recent work of producers like Terrace Martin's Velvet Portraits or MNDGSN's Body Wash. The versatility and polish of the project is only further proof that ZULUZULUU isn't going anywhere. Listen below.
