A new documentary produced by The FADER takes a look at the life and times of Bronx-based rapper Princess Nokia.
Directer by Orian Barki, Destiny sheds light on the honest and ambitious artist’s day-to-day life –– from recording sessions in a crammed apartment, to rocking energetic and female-friendly shows (“All the motherfucking girls to the fucking front!” she shouts in one clip), to strolling around her city with pride.
The 16-minute film also gets decidedly personal; Nokia opens up about her tough childhood, her love for her city and its role in the birth of Princess Nokia as an artist, her mother’s death, and more.
RSVP here for $3 admission to see Princess Nokia perform in Minneapolis on December 16th at The Cabooze, presented by Red Bull Sound Select and Greenroom, along with Trina, Lexii Alijai and YesJulz.
