Philadelphia native theMIND has lent his voice to artists such as Mick Jenkins and Kirk Knight over the last year. Stepping out on his own accord recently, he released a spacey, inspirational track titled "Mercury Rising" produced by THEMpeople. Reiterating the point of never being afraid to dream, theMIND has now unleashed an incredible visual for the catchy tune.
Directed by New York creative Colm Dillane aka KidSuper, the video's animation finds a small girl wandering the streets of Philly before taking off into space. Painting a picture of persistence and inspiration, the stop animation pulls at the heart strings of dreamers everywhere.
"The little girl in the video represents all of my sisters and the little boy represents me. We came from the impossible," he stated to FADER. "Regardless of how high the odds are stacked against us in life, we can build makeshift spaceships to escape our circumstances. We build our spaceships with our hopes and dreams. Just like the spaceship in the video, sometimes in life things fall apart. In these moments its our human relationships that will save us. When things come crashing down we have to remember: we are magic, and together, we can fly."
