Chester Watson and Psymun Are Looking For Lavender Women

words by Eamon Whalen

"it's a draft cause i fukdup on the verse... winter mirage Nov. 11th .. shoutout i love ugly"

And so reads the description from young Chester Watson on his recent release with Minnesota's own and another featured artist from GR Issue 04, the producer Psymun. "Lavender Women" is without a doubt rough around the edges, and is also a brisk departure from Chester and Psymun's past collaborations from the last few years (dead albatross, maps, Picbascassquiato, Chinamen). Both continue to resist being put in any kind of box sonically, gravitating towards a noisier, more static-filled sound than the bright, jazzy, boom bappy collaborations of their past. It's "gateway to hell shit," as Chester raps on the first verse. In addition to Winter Mirage, stay tuned for new projects from Psymun in the near future.
